Ans. APJ Abdul Kalam's father used to take him to mosque for evening prayer. Kalam could not understand the meaning of the Arabic prayers.When he was old enough to ask questions he wanted to know the relevance of prayer.
• According to Kalam's father, there was nothing mysterious in prayer. Actually prayer makes a possible communion of the spirit between people. Prayer helps one to transcend his body and becomes a part of the cosmos which knows no division of wealth, age, caste or creed.
